Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson has declined his invitation to the All-Star Las Vegas 2018 event.
Rekkles was invited to the event after receiving 17.7% of the popular vote. He has been replaced by the player with the next highest vote, his Fnatic teammate Mads ‘Broxah’ Brock-Pedersen.
The Swede announced his decision on Twitter. He said: “I will decline the invitation to All-Star’s which means @BroxahLoL is unleashed.” Rekkles had previously urged his followers not to vote for himself as he would “much rather see some of the newer faces given a chance”.
Broxah also took to Twitter following Rekkles’ announcement. “Earlier today @RekklesLoL asked me if I would be interested in taking his place at the All-Star event,” said Broxah. “I am grateful that he asked fans to vote for us teammates and now decides to give me his spot.”
Joining as a jungler in early 2017, Broxah has been instrumental in the remarkable run of form Fnatic have found over the past 2 seasons. His synergy with midlaner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther has been crucial in their success and the duo will have another chance to impress on the international stage at the All-Star event.
